Pro Lists use your own domain name. For example, with a domain name of widgets.co.uk the email address of your list can be something like firstname.lastname@example.org
After ordering a Pro List its DNS records will need to be edited by you. This is usually done at your webhosting company and you can read how to do
it in: Edit your DNS records. Let us know if you need a hand; we're always happy to do it for you.
Regular Lists use one of our domains. For example: email@example.com. Regular Lists are the right choice when you don't want to use your own domain, or just prefer a simpler option.
2. Choosing the country where your list will be hosted
We have Mailman list-servers in: Australia, Luxembourg, Singapore, UK, and USA.
When ordering a Pro List you can choose to have your list hosted on a server in any of these countries.
There isn't any noticeable difference in delivery times but close to home is always nice.
If you're ordering a Regular List, then the location of the hosting server is
determined by which of the following domains you choose:
mailmanlists.co – Australia
mailmanlists.eu – Luxembourg
mailmanlists.sg – Singapore
mailmanlists.uk – United Kingdom
mailmanlists.us – United States
Of note: the European Union and Australia have stronger data protection laws than the UK, the US and Singapore.
3. How many subscribers will be on your list
Lists are priced by the maximum number of subscribers (see Pricing) and start at:
US$3 per month for up to 1,000 subscribers – Regular List
US$4 per month for up to 1,000 subscribers – Pro List
If the number of subscribers on your list grows over time and exceeds the maximum number, you'll get an email notice to let you know. You will then be able to upgrade your list to a higher the maximum number (from within your Account).
