How to add DNS records for your list
When you order a Pro List you need to add DNS records for your domain so that your list's emails get delivered to our Mailman servers.
Most commonly, adding the DNS records will be done on your web-hosting company's website. You'll need to login to your account on your web-hosting company's website and find a link to something like "Domain Manager", or "Custom DNS Records".

If you can't find where to edit your DNS records let us know. We've seen most types of setups and will be able to steer you in the right direction, or simply do it for you.
The server location (Australia, Europe, UK, USA) of your list – that you chose when ordering – will determine what information needs to be entered into your new DNS records. And that information can be found in your Account under the link "DNS records".
The DNS records you will need to add are:
- A record
- AAAA record
- MX record
- TXT record (for SPF)
Below are examples that illustrate the record entries required for imaginary domain of: widgets.mx The imaginary owner has ordered a list – email@example.com
Each ISP will have it's own interface, but the principles are the same. Don't copy the data in the examples – the real data that you'll need is in your Account.
Once your records have been added and have propagated around the world (which can take up to 3 hours) we will then create a SSL certificate for your domain, plus add entries for two more records:
Although not absolutely essential for your list to function, these last two DNS records do go a long way in preventing your list's emails getting tagged as spam, or discarded completely. So we encourage you to add them once your list is up and running.
